Nemorelle Casino
The casino is the vaulted room of this house, across the courtyard
Nemorelle Casino is under the barrel vault on the far side of the court, in the room that was first the stable and then the wine store. It belongs to the hotel and the hotel runs it. It is part of the same house as the bedrooms, with no address of its own on the rue de l'Aspic, and you get there without going out onto the street.
From the desk you cross the courtyard and go through the double doors, about fifty paces, all of it inside the carriage door. Someone is on that door for as long as the room is open.

Seven tables under bare stone
The casino floor has seven tables and a bar built into the end wall. On a Thursday in February three are open. During the Feria all seven are, and the door is counted, because a vault only holds so many people.
The casino leaves its stone bare and unplastered, with nothing hung on it. The lighting is low and points at the tables, and there is no music. On an August afternoon the room is about six degrees cooler than the courtyard, with no help from anyone.
The casino asks guests not to wear shorts or beach shoes. The rest of the house is relaxed about dress, but this door is not.
18, checked at the door every visit
France sets the casino age at 18, and the house applies it to everyone. Your identity document is checked on every visit, so a guest who showed it yesterday shows it again tonight, even after dinner in the courtyard an hour earlier.
We accept a passport, a national identity card or a residence permit. A photograph of one on a telephone does not count, and the staff on that door have heard the argument before.
Nobody under 18 enters the casino at any hour, and that includes the time when the room is closed and being cleaned.
Agreed with a person, written down
Limits are set on the casino floor with the staff working it. Tell them your figure before you sit down and they write it down and hold to it for the evening, or, if you would like a suggestion, they will offer one.
If you want to stop playing at the casino altogether, that is arranged in person at the desk, and not in the vault or by telephone. Self-exclusion is signed at the desk and takes effect the same evening. It can be lifted only by coming back to the desk in person.
The casino floor never extends credit, and there is no cash machine in the vault, the courtyard or anywhere else inside the carriage door.
No games, no bets, no deposits, no payments
This is a land-based casino in one room of a hotel in Nîmes. The website only describes the room and the house around it. It does not run games, take stakes, open accounts or handle money.
To play, you come to the rue de l'Aspic, show a document at the vault door and take a seat. That is the only route, and none of it can be done from this page.
